One of the most common traditions practiced when becoming engaged is for a man to give a woman an engagement ring. In Claudia Schiffer’s case, her then boyfriend, Film Producer Matthew Vaughn gave her a tortoise! Since the couple is being featured here today on TIWH, it should be easy to figure out her answer to his proposal.

The couple wed in 2002 in St. George’s church in the village of Shimpling, a village in Suffolk, England. The wedding reception was held at Schiffer’s Elizabethan mansion. Schiffer wore a “fairytale” Valentino dress, which many fans came out to see (though were unsuccessful, since she walked out with a blanket over her head). Afterward, a friendly 1966-style “England vs. Germany” soccer game was played with Boris Becker as the captain of Schiffer’s team.

The couple are still married today and have two children together. Happy anniversary to the lovely couple!
