TIWH: April 2nd

By Shannon Ayers on April 2nd, 2010

Born April 11, 1913, Oleg Cassini was instrumental in shaping how we see wedding gowns today.

This legendary designer not only crafted beautiful clothing for Paramount Pictures, but was also hired as the Fashion Designer for First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. This new title gave Cassini the opportunity to prove himself as he created 300 outfits for the Queen of Camelot in just three short years.

Cassini is known for originally designing the sheath and  the A-Line gown.

Although this icon of fashion passed away on March 17, 2006, we can still celebrate his work through the beautiful (and affordable) Oleg Cassini Collection at David’s Bridal.
