surprise then that after getting arrested at the age of 14 he was put on a chain gang. After escaping this ordeal he returned to his family’s home in Delaware and met the young teenager Dorothy Spence.

Not long after they were married, Robert began working in movies. He began performing in westerns and war movies and then his career soon took off.

They were married for 57 years until Robert passed away in 1997 at the age of 79. Robert may have been a “bad boy” image, but it looks like he had a “good girl” back at home to keep him grounded.
