A Retro Romance

My lady and I have a thing for old films. Our usual date night consists of going to dinner and watching something classic at an art house or one our pads.

Tonight is our six-month anniversary and I told her that I’d treat her to a night out. Little does she know that our vintage date is all about the future. It’s time for her to know that I want her to be mine forever.

Meet March’s Fiance of the Month!

By Tia Ayers

You saw March’s FOM, Rich PierreLouis, dressed to the nines in our 1960s-inspired pictorial! Now get to know him for real.

Rich, March FOM

Rich, March FOM

Name: Rich PierreLouis

Occupation: Actor, Comic, Humanitarian

Hometown: Brooklyn Zoo

Motto: Always do what’s best, NOT what’s “right”!

Hobbies/Interests: Sports, sports, sports

My ideal proposal: I’d like to slip it on her finger while she’s asleep and when she wakes up, she kinda doesn’t realize she has a ring on. Then when she realizes, she breaks down and says, “I thought you’d never ask me to spend the rest of my life as yours and yours alone.”

My ideal woman: My ideal woman is my best friend.

Turn-ons: A sense of humor.

Turn-offs: Someone who’s not funny. Also, when a woman asks me what my turn-ons and turn-offs are. (EDITOR’S NOTE: Woops!)

Celebrity Wife Fantasy: Vanessa Williams, Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry and Keri Hilson. She “knocks me down”!

And of course, Rich couldn’t be our FOM without an endorsement from your girlfriends. Here’s what we had to say:

Tia says: “Rich knows how to make a woman feel beautiful. I first met him at a comedy show a few years ago. Not only is he charming, he’s hilarious. What’s more attractive than a sense of humor? Nothing. Do yourself a favor and check out his standup comedy. If you can’t do it in person, you can find it in the reel section of his website.” (www.richpierrelouis.com)

Shannon says: “Rich is compassionate, generous and a pleasure to work with. He is professional, but fun, and knows how to have a good time. I’m so lucky to consider him a friend and I think everyone who knows him would say the same! Thanks, Rich, for being a part of this experience with us!”

Do you have questions for Rich? Leave a comment and we’ll try to get him to answer!

Homeschooled Hostess: Garnish made easy!

By Shannon Ayers

Step 1

Step 1

Okay, so cutting a lime may seem like a very simple task but there really is a correct way to cut a lime so it can easily hang on the edge of a cocktail glass.

Bartenders know this trick and I wanted to share it with all of you! Trust me, these simple cuts will change your cocktail parties forever!

Step 1: Hold the lime in your hand. Cut either end off with a sharp knife.

Step 2

Step 2

Step 2: Place one of the now cut ends flat on your cutting board and cut down the middle so you have two halves.

Step 3: With the two halves slice down the inside of the lime (but don’t cut down to the rind) This cut will help the lime wedges rest on your cocktail glass.

Step 4: Now turn the lime over and slice into wedges for your drinks. (Serve them in their own martini glass for added sophistication!)

Step 3

Step 3

Enjoy!!!

Step 4

Step 4

Finished!

TIWH: March 2nd

Elizabeth Hurley & Arun Nayar

Nayar & Hurley at their British ceremony.

British Ceremony

When Elizabeth Hurley wore a Versace gown known as the “safety pin” dress as Hugh Grant’s date to the premiere of Four Weddings and a Funeral in 1994, she became a household name. So it’s no surprise that the model-actress opted for a Versace gown at her British ceremony.

That’s right, British ceremony.

Hurley and her beau, Indian businessman, Arun Nayar had several wedding celebrations, which spanned over eight days and two continents.

In fact, we at PROPOSAL are not even sure if today is the day that Hurley and her hubby celebrate their wedding. Some sources say today, some say tomorrow and then of course there’s the anniversary of their Hindu wedding, which is on March 9th.

One thing we do know is the price of their wedding was outrageous. According to romancestuck.com, their wedding cost 2.5 million dollars. That includes a banquet with 80 dishes, a wedding party cricket match and a parade that featured white horses, camels and elephants.

This just goes to show that her “if you’ve got it, flaunt it” philosophy of fashion extended to her wedding. Whichever day they choose to celebrate, happy third anniversary to the extravagant couple!
