Andrew Lloyd Webber & Madeleine Gurdon
The man who brought Cats and The Phantom of the Opera to the stage married a former equestrian star 19 years ago today.
Andrew Lloyd Webber met his third wife, Madeleine Gurdon through his neighbors who loved horses.
Their wedding date fell shortly after the Persian Gulf War and the couple debated on whether to postpone their nuptuals.
“We feel we should not give in to the forces that have caused this situation and that we should continue with the party” The couple said, via a written statement released to reporters.
A year later, Lloyd Webber was knighted and Gurdon gave birth to their first child. Over the next few years, they added two more children to the family.
In 2009, Lloyd Webber was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After undergoing treatment, he announced that he was cancer-free in January. Sir Lloyd Webber and his Lady obviously have a lot to celebrate this year.
Cheers to the couple and here’s to many more years of wedded bliss!
