Ryan, February FOM

Name: Ryan Chase

Occupation: Actor/Stuntman

Hometown: Sunny, Southern California

Motto: Live Fast, Die Fun.

Hobbies/Interests: Snowboarding, Surfing, Mtn. Bikes, adrenaline inducing activities.

My ideal proposal: I would love to pop the big question one day on top of a beautiful mountain peak or on the warm sands of a remote tropical beach. Just my girl, me and the peace and solitude of nature.

My ideal woman: My ideal woman is somebody adventurous, intelligent and beautiful, both internally and externally.

Turn-ons: Something that really gets me all revved up is when a lady isn’t afraid to step up and push her limits… with whatever it is she happens to be pursuing at that moment, whether it be on the snow, in the water, or getting after her career. A girl who isn’t afraid is…. rahhhhrrrr! hot!

Turn-offs: What sends me packing is a girl who’s afraid to break a nail, nuff said! ;)

Celebrity fantasy: Jessica Biel. She seems down for an adventure, she absolutely gorgeous, loves animals and from what I’ve read and scene, has a good head on her shoulders. Jessica, if you’re reading this, contact PROPOSAL Editors and they’ll give you my contact info!

Don’t forget to check out Ryan’s pictorial, with model Amy Paffrath!

TIWH: February 9th

Andrew Lloyd Webber & Madeleine Gurdon

Sir Lloyd Webber and his Lady.

Sir Lloyd Webber and his Lady.

The man who brought Cats and The Phantom of the Opera to the stage married a former equestrian star 19 years ago today.

Andrew Lloyd Webber met his third wife, Madeleine Gurdon through his neighbors who loved horses.

Their wedding date fell shortly after the Persian Gulf War and the couple debated on whether to postpone their nuptuals.

“We feel we should not give in to the forces that have caused this situation and that we should continue with the party” The couple said, via a written statement released to reporters.

A year later, Lloyd Webber was knighted and Gurdon gave birth to their first child. Over the next few years, they added two more children to the family.

In 2009, Lloyd Webber was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After undergoing treatment, he announced that he was cancer-free in January. Sir Lloyd Webber and his Lady obviously have a lot to celebrate this year.

Cheers to the couple and here’s to many more years of wedded bliss!

Home-Schooled Hostess: A Heartless Valentine’s

By Shannon Ayers

correctcookiephoto

Last night, as I worked on this blog & indulged in my love/hate relationship with The Bachelor, I had an epiphany. The fascination with hearts on Valentine’s Day is purely a lady thing. My boyfriend doesn’t care if his pancakes are heart-shaped or if I wear red. I do those things because of my own love for Valentine’s Day.

I’m not an expert on men, but I do know one thing: men love peanut butter. Peanut butter toast, peanut butter sandwich, peanut butter on a spoon… So this Valentine’s Day I decided to make my man peanut butter cookie sandwiches :) and I thought outside the heart and kept them their usual circle shape.

Now for the cookie recipe (makes about 12):

1 stick of unsalted butter, softened (I set mine on the stove while the oven pre-heats)

1 cup of creamy peanut butter

1/2 cup of brown sugar (I used dark although light is preferred)

1/2 cup of granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup of all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1.) Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees

2.) Beat together butter, peanut butter & brown sugar. After they are mostly mixed add the granulated sugar. Beat until creamy. Add egg & vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Now combine flour & baking soda together in a separate bowl. Slowly beat it into peanut butter/ butter mixture.

3.) Put a rounded scoop of cookie dough onto greased cookie sheet. Use a fork to press down on the cookies to flatten and add some texture to the dough. Sprinkle with granulated sugar.

6.) Bake for 10-12 minutes. Transfer to wire rack to cool! Once they are cooled put the filling (see recipe for filling below) in between the two cookies to make a sandwich and enjoy!!

Recipe for Filling:

6 ounces of cream cheese

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

6 tablespoons powdered sugar

1.) Beat all ingredients together until they are smooth.

I had originally seen a recipe like this in an issue of Cottage Living from 2008 (I was able to find a photo from the article, because my own photo didn’t do the cookies justice!) but I’ve altered it to fit my own taste, alter it to fit yours and please feel free to share your changes with me!

Happy Valentines Day!!! :)

Grace’s Tip of the Day: Effortless Hostessing

No coffee [20/09/09]

When having a party it’s always nice to offer guests coffee in the late hours. It’s an inexpensive gesture that offers sophistication in even the most casual of get-togethers.

Have you ever seen an old movie where the couple in the film decide to get coffee in the middle of the night? They just came from a swanky cocktail party and then they decide to duck into a no frills diner to flirt without the bother of strangers. Well, asking your guests if they want a little mid-night pick-me-up can be an easy and sophisticated way to keep the party going. That little boost of energy can go a long way on the dance floor. Cocktails and coffee? There is nothing more chic!
