Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio, moments after saying "I Do."
January 14th 1954
Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio
The Slugger and The Bombshell made headlines when they married at San Francisco’s City Hall on January 14th 1954.
The two met each other through the press agent Dave Marsh, at the request of DiMaggio and they began dating soon after!
The picture perfect couple may have looked the part, but DiMaggio who had recently retired wasn’t ready to be husband to Marilyn’s busy schedule.
Though their marriage only lasted eight months, the love and respect they had for one another will forever hold a place in wedding history.
After Monroe passed away at the young age of 36, Joe sent a half-dozen red roses three times a week to her grave until he passed away.
It just proves that these iconic figures will have a truly iconic love.
